Brainport is the area of the South-east Netherlands; at its core are the city of Eindhoven and 20 surrounding municipalities. For centuries on end, this area has surprised the world with its technical ingenuity. Classic innovations and applications include the first radio broadcast, electronic music, and the CD. More recent examples are the LED lamp, the wafer stepper, a mushroom-picking machine, innovative transport systems, and the MRI scanner. There's a good chance that in Brainport a good idea eventually becomes an innovative product that finds its way into the (world) market!
