The jury members are professionals in the field of education, government and the business sector. The jury assesses the entries on a number of aspects: the degree of innovation of the entry, the suitability of the idea or product to the residents of the city of Eindhoven, and the feasibility of the idea.
Ton Schurgers says the following about the importance of this competition for students:
BRAINS Eindhoven challenges young people to think about solutions to the problems of our time. Because they are not burdened with solutions from the past, we may expect them to come up with creative and original solutions. Therefore, BRAINS Eindhoven is a great way to encourage young people to find solutions; after all, it is their own future that is at stake.
